Auoto Transfer Switch

  • ATS is Auto Transfer Switch, mainly applied to the automatic switch between prime and emergency standby power, composing an automatic emergency standby power supply system together with diesel generating sets.
  • When the mains or city power is cut off, it can automatically switch loads to generating sets in 0-10 seconds.
  • When the mains or city power supply returns to normal, ATS will automatically transfer the load from the standby power supply to the city power supply.
  • ATS can ensure a continuous power supply when the city power is not stable.

Parallel synchronizing Control System

  • It can control two or more diesel generator sets to work together and operate automatically or manually.
  • It could save 20% of the money for several sets of small power capacity generators instead of one set of larger power capacity generator sets.

5 Steps to Start the Diesel Generator Set Manually

     Check before operation

  • The fuel level in the fuel tank is full
  • The coolant level in the water tank is in the normal range
  • Lubrication level in the normal range
  • The indicator of the air filter is normal
  • Battery cables connected correctly
  • Load equipment is connected and ready 
  1. Switch on the control panel power key from position “OFF” to position “ON”
  2. Switch the knob to RUN
  3. Press the manual button on the control panel 
  4. Press the start button on the control panel
  5. switch on the MCCB

Prime Power

Prime Power is the maximum power available for less than 8 hours a day of usage in a variable load application.

An overload capability of 10% is available, however, this is limited to 1 hour within every 12-hour period.

Standby Power

Standby Power is the maximum power available for duration-varying loads of a main power network failure. The average load factor over 24 hours of operation shouldn’t exceed 80% of the prime power rating.

Typical operating hours are limited to a total of 200 hours to 500 hours per year.

Continuous Power

Continuous Power is the maximum power available for an unlimited period of use at a constant load factor.

The average load factor should not exceed 70% of the prime power rating during any 24-hour period.

No overload capability is allowed.

Diesel Generator Set Daily Maintenance Checklist

  1. The generator set is clean and in good condition
  2. The shed is clean and in good condition
  3. The fuel level in the fuel tank is full
  4. The fuel cap is on and has no leaks
  5. The lubrication level in the normal range
  6. The radiator coolant has no leaks and the level is in the normal range
  7. The battery connection is good
  8. The indicator of the air filter is normal
  9. Record the generator set running hours daily
  10. Fire extinguisher present and workable
